A Better Tool Kit?

The existing tool roll that came with the Porsche has some great tools but not everything I wanted to carry. I purchased a nice, little tool bag from Harbor Freight to hold additional tools, supplies and parts.

A nice guide from Petrolicious.

Your list may differ from mine but this is what I have:

Glove Box

  • Flashlight
  • DME Relay (Porsche)
  • Fuses
  • Multi-Tool (Gerber, Leatherman or similar)

Tool Roll/ Bag

  • Adjustable Wrench
  • Metric Allen Keys
  • Utility Knife
  • Screw Driver(s)
  • Needle-Nose Pliers
  • Channel Locks
  • Wire Stripper
  • Select sockets/ box wrenches
  • Zip Ties (2×6)
  • Steel Wire (10ft)
  • Elec Wire (14ga, 2x4ft)
  • Electrical Tape
  • Multimeter
  • Fix-a-flat
  • Jumper Cables

Porsche Tools (in the OEM kit)

  • Spark Plug Socket
  • Tire Iron
  • Screwdrivers
  • Wrenches
  • Pliers
  • Allen Keys
  • Alternator Belt
All goes into the bag. Other bits not pictured.

BMW Tools

The BMW had a jack and tire iron but no tool kit. So, I built one with the general tools and some similar to the Porsche kit. Some were placed under the rear seat and others in a box attached to the trunk wall.
